THE ASSOCIATION OF RHEUMATOLOGISTS OF TAMILNADU (ART)
The association is spearheading the awareness programs for the public and education programs for the doctors and medical students.
History of ART
Rheumatology as a super speciality became one of its own under the dynamic leadership of Prof. A.N.Chandrasekharan in 1972. 2006 was another landmark year marking the launch of The Association of Rheumatologists of Tamilnadu (ART) with Prof.ANC as Patron, Prof C.P. Rajendran as President and Dr.V.Krishnamurthy as Secretary. Many CMEs, patient awareness programs, 1st SZIRACON in Kodaikanal in 2014, APLAR at Chennai in 2015 and 2nd SZIRACON in Mahabalipuram in 2019 were hosted by ART. In 2021, the present team took over with Prof.S.Rajeswari as President and Prof. Arul Rajamurugan as Secretary There were about 30 members in 2006 and today our strength is around 65 members.

ART News & Events
The association conducts activities for the awareness of Rheumatology ( Joint Diseases and Immune Diseases) among the general population. It also conducts CME for physician , practioners and post graduate students.
Important Events Notes :
- Our Association is delighted to host the 16th Annual ART CME coinciding with the Golden Jubilee of the Department of Rheumatology in Madras Medical college on 8th and 9th Oct 2022.
- In Aug 22 a regional meet was organised at Coimbatore.
- Every 4th Thursday monthly webinars are conducted.
