President's Message

It gives me immense pleasure to deliver the ART President's message in this landmark 75th year of Independence. It is also a landmark year for my Alma Mater - Madras Medical College celebrating its Golden Jubilee year. Our sincere soulful prayers to the Almighty for the departed souls of Dr.Nedumaran, Dr.Prasad, Dr.Manimegalai and Dr.Shiva Kumar to Rest in Peace.
Covid times have been difficult, yet we have been conducting our Annual ART meet, Webinars, Monthly ART meets and quarterly regional meets in addition to Patient awareness programmes.
We are progressing forward rapidly. Ours is the only state with the maximum number of Rheumatologists. Almost every major city has a Rheumatologist. Patient awareness is increasing, but should continue. Our new website is being installed. We should strengthen the appropriate referral system for all rheumatological diseases and work towards establishing DM Rheum in all colleges.
My vision for next year includes more physical meets, starting an ART journal which is being processed now, patient rehabilitation, funds for projects, collaborated publications, procuring a separate office space etc. It is our bound duty to contribute to the progress of ART. “United we stand .Divided we fall.”
